Our Vision for Geography at Southdale

At Southdale, we want the children to develop the skills to become global citizens. Through hands-on exploration and data collection, children will develop a curiosity and fascination about the world around them. Through our robust curriculum, children will encounter real world issues and begin to acquire the knowledge to shape their futures. Children will have ample opportunities to use a wide variety of geographical resources to support their journey to becoming global citizens. Children will encounter and build an understanding of: diverse places, people, resources, both natural and human environments as well as develop an understanding of both human and physical processes. Children at Southdale will be accepting and understanding of both their immediate locality and the world in which they live. Through this, they will become champions of change, who are eager to protect their world and take responsibility for their future.
